Pizza Napoletana is the Neapolitan pizza that the Neapolitans have been boasting for ages. The preparation was founded as early as 1870 and it involves only two varieties-Marinara and Margherita. The Neapolitans possess a commendable heritage of the art of pizza making. They hold their pizza high and attach a lot of grandeur to their version of pizza.
According to the Neapolitans, Pizza Napoletana, that is the pizzas they serve are the most traditional and the truest form of pizzas served in Europe. The Napoletana pizza originated amongst the seaman’s wives who prepared the dishes for their fisherman-husbands returning from fishing. This gave rise to the preparation called Marinara. Margherita was first prepared in the honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy post from whom the pizza got its name.

- ripe tomatoes-12 oz;
- a pinch of oregano salt;
- while flour;
- olive oil-8 tablespoons;
- now let us look into the step by the procedure of preparing the dish.
Crush the tomatoes and before crushing them do not forget to remove the seeds.
Combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil; and oregano, salt, basil, garlic, and pepper and mix it with the crushed tomatoes. Keep the mixture aside.
In the meantime prepare the dough. In this case, you can make the dough like any other simple dough by following the basic steps of making pizza dough. Once the dough is ready, piece them in the shape of balls and place these dough balls into a disk, and then shove the disk into an edgeless shovel covered with flour.
Pour the mixture on to the pastry disks and sprinkle basil leaves on each of the disks. Also sprinkle one tablespoon olive oil and rotate the dough evenly so that it gets cooked on all sides equally.
Remove the preparation from the oven after a few minutes. Let it cool down-your Pizza Napoletana is ready to be served!
From the recipe, it can be easily understood that Neapolitan pizzas are easy to cook and thus it is not very difficult to have occasional homemade pizza parties and have a gala time having the yummiest pizzas. Napoletana is a favorite dish of almost all pizza-lovers and thus its access should not be limited to high-end eateries.
